Sunday was yet another exciting and busy day for Ugandan revelers as they flooded Lugogo grounds to witness the magical performances of Blu 3 and Joshua Baraka among other artists who headlined Blankets and Wine.
This time, it was not ‘omutonzi yasalawo’ as revelers got to decide how to have fun. Organizers put up a two-stage (Blankets stage and Onja Onja) experience and revelers had to decide on where their vibes could easily go high.
The main stage buzzed with electrifying performances from a lineup that included Andereya Baguma, BLU 3, Karun, Sun El Musician X Simmy, Joshua Baraka, Mootownoh, and Kivumbi King.
For fans of DJ culture, the ‘Onja Onja Stage’ offered high-energy sets from talented DJs like Etania, Flo Moon, R3ign Drops, Masaka Masaka, and That Guy Em. The audience kept switching from one stage to the other but the Blankets stage caught more of their attention as that is where the main action was.
At about 9 pm, Joshua Baraka took to the stage like Nana, Omukwano, No Lie, Tewekweka and Moonlight among others, also doing freestyles of Konshens and Shaggy among other Jamaican artists.
Blu 3 came next with songs like Sanyu Lyange, Strong Woman, Nzijukira, Kankyakyankye, Ndayila, and paying tribute to the Late Mozey Radio by doing Where You Are.
The trio had earlier done solo performances before coming together to deliver a powerful performance that left many yearning for more.
Designed to be family-friendly, the festival included a dedicated area with bouncy castles, allowing children under 12 to enter for free. A variety of vendors also contributed to the lively atmosphere, offering food, drinks, fashion, and crafts.
