Singer and Kyadondo East member of Parliament, Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has taken to his official social media platforms to console People Power candidates who have so far lost in the ongoing guild elections across the country. Among the losers include Makerere University Business School’s Mwesiga Shenmark who lost on Tuesday to Tusingwire Romulus, an independent.
In his post, Bobi Wine thanks Mwesiga for participating in the highly competitive race despite alleged bribery and intimidation from the ruling party, NRM.
“In the same vein, I congratulate comrades Mwesiga Shenmark and Naiga Audrey, who despite not winning, put up such a commendable fight! As I have said before, seeing intelligent young Ugandans identify with our message reassures me that the future is bright. Indeed, this is a generational cause.” Bobi’s post reads in part.

The People Power train continues in our institutions of higher learning. I congratulate the students of Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) and Ndejje University for electing candidates who identify with #PeoplePower! Congratulations comrades Nabacwa Milca and Muhumuza Ryan Umar on your victory. These join many other students’ leaders in various Universities and other tertiary institutions who have won elections, running under the People Power banner. In many cases, these victories have been secured amidst many difficulties- state sponsored intimidation, bribery, etc. In the same vein, I congratulate comrades Mwesiga Shenmark and Naiga Audrey, who despite not winning, put up such a commendable fight! As I have said before, seeing intelligent young Ugandans identify with our message reassures me that the future is bright. Indeed, this is a generational cause.
