The High Court has moments ago thrown out, with costs, the application filed by former MAK guild presidential contestant Bazil Mwotta in which he was challenging the ruling of the guild election petition tribunal. “Mwotta’s application was found to be devoid of any merit whatsoever.”
Bazil Mwotta and his team will return to court to get the budget of the costs he is meant to pay in accordance to having his case thrown out.
Mwotta had sought Court orders over-turning the tribunal’s ruling which had cancelled results from the School of Education and ordered for a re-election on account of the numerous irregularities that it had discovered during the hearing of Ssemboga Roy’s Petition. Mwotta also wanted Court to stop the re-election and instead declare him the “validly elected” guild president.
Court has instead upheld the tribunal’s ruling and ordered that the re-election should indeed be conducted.
