Yasin Sentumbwe and Simon Semuwemba sued Uganda Christian University following an expulsion by the latter.
The two law students were expelled by the University for offering leadership to a demonstration early this year against the new tuition policy.

The new policy that would be effective in the academic year 2016/17 and requires that students pay 12 percent increase (around UGX 300, 000) on the already high figures the students were painfully paying.
Court in July set 17th August (after court vacation) as the date for the hearing. In this, UCU was to present a defense against the suit, if they had any.
The university has however not been able to present its case before court as it claimed it was not yet prepared and asked for an adjournment.
Court has set 24th August as the news date to give UCU time to prepare its defense.
