The Kyambogo non teaching staff have this evening, led by their heads of department one of them being Betihama Jackson stormed the Senate building to demand for their salary enhancements.
“The president sent a directive that the non teaching staff should be given the available funds as the government is looking into the issues of the outstanding arrears but Kyambogo has refused to give us the money yet other universities have done so ” said one of the staff members.
The staff members say they will not leave the Senate building area until the responsible authorities come out to say something. At the moment they are pinning the university secretary and accounting officer as the ones responsible for their short comings.
The non teaching staff claim that the money is already available in the senate but the secretary is being greedy. Police have stopped them from entering the senate building.
