President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has directed for the reopening of the next candidate classes. This follows the reopening of candidate classes and final year students last year.
He said that students in senior five, senior three and Primary six have been allowed to resume classes.
“We have requested that they report on March 1st 2021. The total number is 1.68 million learners.” President Museveni said during his address on 4th February 2021.
President Museveni has urged students from other classes to carry on with the distance learning. “After April 6th, the Ministry of Education and Sports will work out a detailed plan for other classes on how they can come to school to compliment on what they have learned during online lessons. One class can come one time, and compliment on what they studied online, like that.”
Museveni is yet to comment on the reopening of institutions of higher learning.
