A total of seven students have today graduated from Bronston Canadian Academy Kampala (BCA) during the school’s first graduation ceremony. The ceremony was held at Sheraton Hotel, Kampala which was officiated by Samuel Musoke, the proprietor of Avance International University and MK Publications as the chief guest.
Bronston Canadian Academy is an international online school that majors in Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). The school helps students to learn from several colleges in Canada online. OSSD is a pre-university academic level which is on the same level with Uganda’s senior six.
BCA admits students who have completed senior four, who can instantly join university after completing the one-year OSSD .
During today’s ceremony, only two students were present to receive their certificates as the rest already moved on to their respective countries.
While speaking at the event, Musoke revealed that OSSD is the best alternative for students who want to join university without studying A’Level. According to him, BCA is a game changer, being the first online secondary school in the country.
“I’ve always wanted international education, I’ve always wanted international exposure. BCA delivers OSSD online with support from the center anywhere in the world.” Musoke said before adding “It doesn’t matter whether you have done this OSSD in Canada or you have done it here, you are getting the same qualifications,”
According to Daphne Bugirwa, the team leader at BCA, the school doesn’t believe in final exams. BCA relies on continuous assessments to award diplomas to students.
“We have been operating for three years now and we are strictly an online school. Students sign up and all their work is done online. We have tutors who help them to make sure that they meet their deadlines and submit their work in time,” She said.
“This program is ideal for students who want to study from abroad specifically Canada but like we said this qualification is accepted in other universities like in UK and a lot of European countries.” She added.
The BCA team leader added that the OSSD program is cheaper compared to studying from abroad physically.
