Activist and Pastor, Joseph Kabuleta who was arrested last week by the security forces for what they termed as spreading falsities against the person of the president of Uganda, will have his fellowship goers to thank as among the groups of people calling for his release.
The students who are all over social media decrying the arrest of their pastor at Watchman Ministries Uganda, say that their pastor’s freedom of speech is being curtailed and calling upon their colleagues to join them in ensuring that he is freed so that the right is protected.
“This is not right and is injustice at its extreme. From the manner of the arrest which was in fact a kidnap to later retaining him and even denying his lawyers, doctor and wife to access him. Is the police there to protect us or rather to protect certain preferential people at the expense of Ugandans at large?” a disgruntled Brenda from MUBS questioned on her Facebook.
The law students in his fellowship were no less amused either. “Uganda has now shifted from capitalism to communism and from communism to musevenism where everything is about the person and his family. Nothing took him to the bush to disguise to liberate Ugandans than to put up his ideology called musevenism” Allan, a law student at IUEA posted.
“I think Uganda Police should find out the difference between critiquing and abusive content, because the two aren’t the same.I want to guarantee all the proponents and the pioneer of this ideology that midday is upon us and everyone will be able to have a clear sight of the day” he added.
Kabuleta was arrested last week while having tea at Forest Mall in Kampala by plain clothed detectives before the Uganda Police released a statement acknowledging the arrest and saying that he is in their custody. The students are running several hashtags including #FreeJosephKabuleta and #FreeJK.
