Scovia Alum posted a TikTok about learning to drive. She ended up with an offer of a brand-new car.
The TikToker from Agago District in northern Uganda, who reportedly has more than three million followers, caught the attention of Russian influencer Victoria Bonya, who came across the driving video and left a comment that quickly had Alum’s followers talking.
“I love you! Can I buy you a car???” Bonya wrote.
What many first dismissed as a playful comment turned out to be a real offer. Bonya has since offered to buy Alum a new Suzuki Fronx, a compact crossover estimated to cost about Shs90 million in Uganda.
For Alum, who built her following by sharing moments from her everyday life, it was a surprise few creators ever get, and it came from someone she had never met, thousands of kilometres away.
The gesture has been widely celebrated online, with fans praising Bonya’s generosity and cheering Alum on as she learns to drive.
It is not yet clear when the car will be handed over. CampusBee has reached out to Alum for comment.
