Confusion has erupted at Kyambogo University as graduation lists for most faculties have delayed ahead of the University’s 15th graduation ceremony set to happen next week on 12th,13th and 14th December 2018.
Exclusive information reaching Campus Bee indicates that the university has released graduation lists for only two faculties but several names of graduands are missing. The released lists are for the School of Management and Entrepreneurship as well as the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
One of the students who preferred anonymity has told Campus Bee about the confusion at the Banda-based university as he narrated that the School of Management and Entrepreneurship is the first group expected to graduate on 12th December but the university has released only one list, with several names missing.
“We are the first to graduate, but can you imagine they have only released one list? They are supposed to release three lists before printing the graduation booklet but until today, some people are not on the list.” One of the graduands revealed.
This student added that the class of Business Studies with Education consists of over 80 students but only 30 people are on the list.
The Kyambogo graduate school is also scheduled to graduate next week on December 12th, but our sources indicate that marking of the school’s research booklets is still ongoing. “Today I was at campus but they were just starting to mark the research booklets for graduate school,” our source says.
Clearance is another disturbing issue at Kyambogo University as several students have not yet been cleared by the university bursar for graduation, yet only two days to the deadline are remaining. Our snoops have further established that the university may consider letting students graduate, and clearance will possibly take place after graduation when they go to pick their academic transcripts.
Word in the grapevine has it that the staff are away and offices are closed because of unpaid arrears.
We shall keep you posted.
