Reports from the Nakawa based Valley courts hostel suggest on of its rooms is on fire. It was discovered by students from neighbouring Akamwesi hostel who saw smoke emerging from the premises and hurried to alert the concerned personnel.
This bizzare deadly incident is reportedly caused by one of its resident leaving a flat iron on which heat up and burnt a pile of clothes that were near it. Unfortunately, the door was locked and the resident was nowhere to be seen.
“The room that caught fire was of a female student of MUBS. She left her TV on and she stepped out a bit. On coming back, her room was ablaze,” a Valley Courts resident told Campus Bee.
The hostel security and Custodian were seen rushing to the scene and trying to put off the fire before it spread.
