As of yesterday, an inside source at Uganda Christian University (UCU) confirmed that the University Senate had sat for a meeting in which they made several resolutions on how the University shall attend to finalists whom the President, H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni considers to be “Essential students”.
In a recent directive issued in one of his Presidential addresses, H.E. Kaguta Museveni ordered the ministries and Academic institutions to make preparations for candidates to complete their different modules or semesters.
Campus Bee has exclusively learnt that indeed Uganda Christian University, has followed this directive and during the Senate meeting, they came up with a number of suggestions on how the finalists would be handled. Firstly, our reliable source confirmed that all finalists would do Take-home exams which shall commence on 8th June, 2020.
Secondly, Senate resolved that the graduation ceremony had been extended from July to September. It was further agreed upon by Senate that student’s internship would be done concurrently with teaching in the advent semester.
Research supervision is to continue being conducted online and finally all retake students in their final year will have to wait until the Ministry of Education and Sports approves fully the opening of the Universities.
