Campus Bee has established why Kyambogo University has delayed releasing admission lists for Diploma and Direct scheme for the academic year 2020-2021. According to information shared by the university Public Relations team, the university is currently waiting for the government to set resumption dates.
“Dear public please note that Kyambogo University has not released the list of admissions 2020-2021 (Diploma and Direct Scheme). We are waiting for government to set the date of resumption.” The statement reads in part.
The statement adds that the admissions usually indicate when the semester begins and ends but following the ongoing COVID-19 scare, the university can not tell when the lockdown on schools will be lifted.
The university has closed admissions on all schemes and it will release the lists when officials from the Ministry of Education or the president communicate.
“The admissions letters are required to have the beginning and end of semester which we can’t provide given the status qua. You are requested to be patient and wait for the president to communicate on the date of resumption. However, admissions on all schemes is currently closed. You will be informed if this changes.” The statement reads further.
Most universities that released admission lists are hanging in air as it remains unclear when campus will resume. The universities were closed in March following the outbreak of COVID-19 and the government has since advised them to adopt e-learning.
The head of state is expected to make a “bid decision” together with the Ministry of Education by September this year.
