Known for his infectious smile and humor among many other characteristics, Taliwaku Andrew Julian may not go un detected or noticed in a community or event. The 29 year old middle sized, big chested gentleman hails from Buyende District.
He is a Valuation Surveyor who is also pursuing his Bachelors Degree in Laws all from Makerere University. He is known to have been involved in university politics as well as an active participant in cultural associations, particularly Abasoga Nseete where he serves as the current PRO.
Taliwaku served as the chairman of Mitchell Hall in Makerere University around 2014 and that is when the ‘Vuvuzela’ designation that he is largely known for came to be celebrated in Football. Also very controversial in his ways, Taliwaku has run for guild president twice where to the surprise of many, turned from opposition and run on the NRM colours.
Still a contentious issue on who exactly held the NRM flag in that guild presidential race, Taliwaku scored a record position for the NRM that was last seen in about 8 years with a one Okot Boniface who is also running for Youth MP in northern Uganda.
After Okot, NRM in Makerere was nothing but a very pathetic force to associate oneself with until the recent Taliwaku effect that gave NRM a whole new face. Loved for his oratory skills, quotes and slogans, Taliwaku’s charisma was and is always a formidable character to reckon with and this is what he carries with himself in the Youth MP race for Eastern Uganda.
The race which happens to be an electoral college vote seems to be a laidback one of a kind because of the aggressiveness that many cultural institutions come with in the different youth structural positions across the country. Positive change, inclusion and inspiration are some of the pillars that the aspiring legislator hopes to build on, a close confederate voice to us.
In the race which seems to still be very uncluttered, the NRM party flag is also being sought after by Mr Odoi Robert who is the NIRA district representative from Bukedi, Mrs Sarah Mpongo Mulongo who is a daughter to Mr Mpongo , a Honourable member of parliament in Namutumba District, Mr Twallah Fadhil, a coordinator in Elgon region under the office of the NRM chairman from Sebei among others.
