Former NBS TV reporter Remmy Bahati has graduated with Masters of Science in Journalism from Columbia University in the City of New York, Campus Bee has learnt. The Ugandan journalists is currently a staff reporter at NY City Lens.
Bahati joins the elite group of 7.5% black journalists in America and 0.01% of female Africans to have graduated-from Ivy League schools. Bahati took to her social platforms to announce this milestone before thanking God, family and friends who helped her out on the journey.
“I graduated with Master of Science in Journalism from @Columbia & joined the elite group of 7.5% of black journalists in America and 0.01% of female Africans to have graduated-from Ivy League schools. None of this could have been possible without God, family & friends,” Bahati tweeted.
“Not everyone can say they earned their degree in a pandemic. Here is proof that i’m resilient enough,” she said Wednesday. It’s an exhilarating, yet surreal feeling to introduce myself to the world as a Columbia-trained Journalist,” she added.
