The Embassy of France in Uganda has officially opened applications for its 2026/2027 Master’s Degree Scholarship Programme, offering fully funded study opportunities for young Ugandan graduates seeking to pursue postgraduate education in France.

The scholarship programme targets Ugandan students who already hold a Bachelor’s degree in selected fields and wish to undertake Master’s studies at recognized French public universities, either in English or French.

According to the Embassy, the scholarship is designed to strengthen academic cooperation between Uganda and France while supporting the development of skilled professionals in key sectors critical to Uganda’s growth and transformation.

Successful applicants will receive a comprehensive scholarship package that covers international return airfare between Uganda and France, full tuition fees, visa fee waivers, and exemption from the Contribution de Vie Étudiante et de Campus (CVEC) fee.

Beneficiaries will also receive a monthly stipend to cater for living expenses and health insurance, with 70 percent of the health coverage financed by the French government and the remaining 30 percent supported by Campus France.

Additional benefits include priority access to subsidized student accommodation, assistance with administrative procedures during their stay in France, and opportunities to participate in cultural activities and professional networking events.

The scholarship is open to students pursuing Master’s degrees in Sciences, Agriculture, Sustainable Development, Tourism and Leisure, Gender Studies, Economics, Engineering, Business Administration, and Sports.

To qualify, applicants must be Ugandan citizens, possess a Bachelor’s degree in one of the eligible fields before the application deadline, and have applied for or secured admission to a Master’s programme at a recognized French public university.

The Embassy emphasized that candidates are responsible for identifying suitable universities and initiating the admission process before applying for the scholarship. Proof of application or admission must be included in the scholarship application, while successful candidates will be required to provide proof of admission during the final stages of selection.

Applicants are required to submit a cover letter, a copy of a valid identity document, a copy of their Bachelor’s degree certificate, and proof of application or admission from a French public university.

All application documents must be combined into a single PDF file and submitted via email to the Embassy’s Service de Coopération et d’Action Culturelle (SCAC) at scac.uganda@gmail.com no later than June 11, 2026, at midnight.

Following the review process, shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews at the Embassy of France in Kampala. All applicants are expected to receive feedback on the outcome of the selection process by July 11, 2026.

The scholarship programme forms part of France’s broader commitment to supporting higher education, academic mobility, and skills development among young professionals in Uganda and across Africa.
