A former student at Makerere University who graduated in the 69th graduation ceremony, passed on yesterday the 9th of March, 2020 at about 9:15am.
The deceased, who was identified as Ritah Nahurira, was a student in the Quantitative Economics class of Makererere University and old student of Mbarara based Maryhill High School.
It is alleged that the motorcycle she was sitted on hit a hump and the rider lost control which caused them to fall. However, she was immediately run over by the rear tyres of a truck and she died instantly. Both the rider and the driver of the motorcycle and truck respectively drove away unidentified.
There will be a funeral service tomorrow at St. Charles Lwanga, Jinja Karoli Parish, Kawempe and thereafter the burial the next day (Thursday) at 4pm in Kanungu, south western Uganda.
The late Nahurira has been greaved by several young people that crossed her path, and they described her as gentle and sweet. They were sorry that she had to pass on so quickly yet she had a very bright future lined up infront of her. She was an academic giant at Makerere and a twin sister.
May her soul rest in peace and may God comfort the hearts of the bereaved family and friends.
