In partnership with MTN Uganda, Makerere University has today afternoon released a list of websites that will be accessed by students without any data/internet subscription (only MTN users).
Makerere is among the universities that are adjusting to provide education services remotely following the continued closure of education institutions over COVID-19.
“I thank MTN Uganda for zero rating our E-learning platforms. Below are the portals accessible on MTN zero rate.” Barnabas Nawangwe, the Makerere University Vice Chancellor posted on his Facebook page before listing the websites.
Nawangwe further called upon students and lecturers to take advantage of these platforms amid fears that universities may not open any time soon. The university is also in talks with Airtel Uganda to see that Makerere students can use its network to access these platforms at zero rating on data.
Makerere students who own smartphones and laptops are set to get more guidelines on how to utilize these platforms as the Corona Pandemic continues to bite.
