The Government of Uganda through Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development is set to rehabilitate Makerere University halls commencing with Lumumba hall.
According to Mr. Ramadan Ggoobi, the secretary to the treasury in the Ministry of Finance, the halls are in a bad condition and they are going to renovate them.
“I have been at Lumumba hall, and I assured Lumumbist that we are going to renovate their hall of renovate” Mr. Ggoobi said.
As the ministry, he added that they are looking towards developing the quality of education of this country.
Mr. Shamim Nambassa, the 87th Makerere University guild president, in her manifesto that brought her in power, was renovation of the halls of residence which she said were in a filthy condition.
The Makerere University halls of residence condition is worrying to the hygiene of the students most especially the lavatories which are in en extremely bad shape.
