The Academic Registrar’s Office at Gulu University has released an event planner of the 2019/2020 second semester that they failed to completed last year for continuing students due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The plan that involves online classes for continuing students will see them starting off with classes on 14th January, 2021 – the same day that Uganda will be conducting the Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

The online classes will run until February 19th, 2021 with written exams scheduled for 22nd – 28th February. The annual recess term shall thereafter commence on 1st March and run through till April 25th, 2021.

“To access the online classes, one must have enrolled, registered and paid any outstanding fees required by the university. The student must also have a stable internet connection.” Dr. Jerry Bagaya, the Academic Registrar said in the communication.

The Academic Registrar also notified the students, that detailed timetables will be made available to them by their respective Deans of Faculties and further instructions on how to access online classes.

“Students that will not be able to sit their course units due to unavoidable circumstances will next sit them when they’re offered again but not as retakes.” The Academic Registrar said.
