As MUK students are all smiles in their grad gowns today, Gulu University graduands have been grassing since they were passed out in October last year. According to an inside Bee, graduands have not yet been awarded their transcripts. This according to the university is caused by ‘machine breakage’. It is just unclear how the machine that broke down last year hasn’t been repaired up to date. A university administrator who spoke to Campusbee on condition of anonymity said: “We’re trying to expedite the process, an expert has been flown into the country to repair the machine. I can surely reveal that the transcripts will be ready very soon.” The students have been demanding the university since they want to apply for jobs. “Gavumenti eyumbe!! [in acholi accent]. Some of us have missed the police cardet recruitment because we never had our transcripts. This is unfair, something must be done. I want to apply for a job but no papers,” an angry graduand said, in a distinct acholi accent.
