The East African University (EAU), a sister institution to Kampala University is holding its fourth graduation ceremony today (31st July) at both of its campuses in Uganda and Kenya.

The ceremony which is being hosted virtually or rather what you well define as ‘Scientifically’ at both Buziga (Kampala) and Nairobi Campus, will see over a thousand students graduate.

The graduation has been presided over by the newly installed Ugandan Chancellor Hon Prof George Mondo Kagonyera who replaced the retired President of Tanzania H.E Al Haj Dr. Hassan Mwinyi.

In the past, graduands congregated with their parents in the university’s graduation square. However, this year, the situation is a whole lot different as the graduation is being conducted through social and mainstream media. This comes in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Deputy vice-chancellor Thomas Senaji said they adopted ICT systems that enabled efficient online learning and led to the timely and satisfactory completion of studies.

The university was founded in Uganda before it expanded into Kenya in 2005 to offer teacher training courses.
