The planned impeachment of the Gulu University speaker set a new revelation in the upcoming guild elections. The political mafias who orchestrated the impeachment have been exposed and their ambitious secrets spilled.

Few days ago, a section of GRCs signed a petition to impeach the Gulu University speaker. Campus bee learnt that when the guild president received a copy of the emergency GRC meeting , he called for an emergency cabinet meeting to discuss the way forward. Reliable sources told us that the Cabinet drafted a petition and arranged an emergency meeting with the Vice Chancellor.

“Many members had their names used and signatures forged on the petition of vote of no confidence”, said Kiragga Abdul, the Prime Minister of the Revamp government. He added that the manner in which the Dean of students handled the matter, was unconstitutiona.

He added that many of the GRCs spearheading the petition were targeting bigger positions in the next government and others had personal  reasons. “The petition was vague, it was spear headed by a few aggrieved members who want to gain cheap political popularity”, said Kiragga Abdul.

Information reaching our desk is that the Vice chancellor asked the Dean to withdraw the emergency GRC meeting which was meant to impeach the speaker. The Prime Minister called for a meeting which is meant to dissolve the government.

“Elections preparations are on and if all goes well, students will vote for their new leadership on 7th April as planned in the electoral Roadmap”, said Mr Kiragga Abdul.
