Uganda’s legendary singer Joseph Mayanja alias Jose Chameleone has officially announced events guru Bijou Fortunate as his new manager. The big announcement was made last evening when the singer called top media representatives in the city for a press conference that was held at Sky Lounge rooftop, Kisementi.
While addressing the media, Chameleone narrated that him and Bijou have been friends for some time before assuring fans that the newly signed manager understands the music industry better than most of his previous managers.
“My friends and well wishers, with so much honour, I’m very excited to introduce you my new management beginning 2020,” Chameleone said before adding that “I’ve been working with Bijou Fortunate for very many years and she’s my personal friend.”
The ‘Baliwa’ singer further explained that signing Bijou is the first step towards boosting his career, given the fact that she is well conversant with ever growing entertainment industry.
“With the growing industry, we need new adjustments, we need to professionalize everything and we agreed upon that with my new manager Bijou that we are going to flip this thing and take it to another lever, locally and internationally.” Chameleone assured.
Bijou, who is one of the founders of events management company Muchachos UG joined the entertainment industry as a dancer. She later joined Talent Africa where her events management expertize was born.
In her address to the press, the fired up Bijou revealed that her first plan as the new manager is to work on an album. According to her, musicians can make a lot of money from music streams which can only be achieved if the singer drops a variety of songs compiled as an album.
“Kindly, I ask for your support, the media especially since this is a new milestone in my life. I promise that I will do it very well, all hands on deck.” Bijou promised.
Bojou further revealed that she will be managing all artistes under Leone Island including Papa Cidy, Melody, Chameleone, among others. Chameleone concluded by calling upon fans to show up in big numbers for his upcoming “The Legend Gwanga Mujje” concert which is slated for May 29th.
