JUST IN! Cotilde Hostel Kicks Student Out of Room, Claims He Wrote a ‘Negative’ Story About Them on Campus Bee

Earlier this week, we published a story of a hostel in Kikumi Kikumi (a Makerere University residential suburb) that was unfairy chasing students out of hostel despite the ongoing exams at the University. Cotilde Hostel management, wrote a letter to all students demanding that they vacate their rooms by 2nd June, 2021 even when most of them will not have started their end of semester exams.

The management, who have deliberately refused to contact our reporters in the development of the story, have today turned their fury on one of their students a one Jacob Luwemba (Fourth Year Law School) and forcefully vacated him from the hostel claiming he runs Campus Bee and wrote the story.

“This is interesting. The other day, that man (Luwemba) called me crying. Begging me to take down the story because the hostel management were saying he wrote it. I told him to ask them to get my number the way he had found it and call me to give me their side of their story because I had also been trying to get to them in vain.” Our Editor said.

According to the Editor, the hostel management made no efforts to reach Campus Bee for “clarification” and instead turned their guns to Mr. Luwemba, whom we have learned that they have even dragged to Police and threatened to sue for defamation.

In an audio we have since accessed, the hostel custodian, a one Steven abuses the victim and constantly calls him a very foolish man for “writing about the hostel in Campus Bee.” He threatens to sue him and this website while alleging that the hostel letter we based on to publish the story was a fake and not stamped; saying they can deny it.

In a telephone interview, Luwemba has said that the hostel made him write a refund agreement for Shs. 270,000 and asked him to vacate the room immediately. The said Steven, out of pettiness even allegedly broke into his room 18 hours after he left the hostel and made him pay for the repairs.

In the audio we have accessed, he abuses the victim and says he acted out of foolishness towards an establishment that is not his fathers.

“Leeka tumanyira bwotyo Jacob. This is not your father’s property.” the said Steven mentions in the audio.

Cotilde Hostel is located opposite Fatuma Girls’ Hostel in Kikumi Kikumi (Makerere) and is owned by Magoola Emmanuel Matovu, a former parliamentary candidate for Busiro East constituency.
