Fresh dudes and babes of Kampala International University (KIU) have today (10th February) morning undergone orientation spearheaded by the Directorate of Student Affairs and university Vice-Chancellor Dr. Mouhamad Mpezamihigo at their main campus in Kansanga.
During this orientation ceremony, the freshers were handed booklets prepared by the University Legal Officer, the Directorate of Students’ Affairs, and the Directorate of Academic Affairs, which contain freshers’ orientation information like the university policies, guidelines, and procedures from orientation to graduation.
While speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Mpezamihigo urged freshers to uphold their values in accordance with the standard of the university and to watch their behavior in order to stay in line towards achieving their main education goals.
Speaking of values, Dr. Mpezamihigo cautioned freshers against immorality, prostitution, and alcoholism while explaining that the listed acts may stop them from securing their degrees at the end of the course.
“I’m raising all this so that you may not destroy your merit-based goal,” he said before adding that “Your objective should be to ensure that the merit that brought you here will lead you to graduation.”
The freshly admitted students were further warned against overspending money on luxurious things that may render them broke, which in most cases lead to immorality. The freshers were asked to take the matriculation oath, making a promise to abide by the rules and regulations of KIU.
