A student of Kampala International University (KIU) has called the public to come to his rescue over a tuition debt of sh8.2 million which has put him at the verge of dropping out of school.
This student, Ivan Ainamasiko, joined the institution under the Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery programme in 2019 on what felt like a dream come true. But dreams, as he was quickly learning, came with a price tag.
Despite their collective sacrifices, Ainamasiko and his family could only afford to cover a fraction of his tuition. Along the run to secure his future, the arrears at the university only kept piling up and now loom over like a dark cloud.
“It’s unfortunate that I am dropping out of the course that I am passionate about,” Ainamasiko said, in his call for financial help.
Now that dropping out seems inevitable in his sight, it’s his prayer that well-wishers come through and bail him out of the situation because “how can I continue when I can’t even afford to pay my tuition?”
