While addressing Kyambogo University first year students virtually today, Mary Esther Sekasi, the Deputy Academic registrar in charge of admissions revealed that there will be no change of program for freshers this year.
According to Sekasi, the service will not be available due to the limited time caused by the outbreak of COVID-19.
“Because of the strict timeline within which we are operating and due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, there is no change of program this academic year. We are sorry about that but we don’t have time to process it.”
Sekasi was addressing freshers on the first day of the university’s freshers’ orientation ceremony which will also happen on 31st March virtually. Sekasi, who was representing the Academic Registrar further cautioned freshers against conmen.
In her address, Sekasi told freshers to avoid seeking for help on campus compound or eslewhere before advising them to always go to university offices in case of any help .
“All students are advised to be careful with people who pose around the university claiming to be staff and are offering help of any kind. If you need any help, please walk into an office and seek guidance. Do not seek for help on the university compound or else where.” Sekasi warned.
Kyambogo University resident first year students will be reporting on campus come 10th April 2021 while face to face lectures are expected to kick off on 12th April, according to Sekasi.
