A Kyambogo resident on Wednesday tested positive for corona virus, Campus Bee reports. The positive case in the prescints of Kyambogo university was announced by the Ministry of Health on Wednesday morning as part of the 1,728 tests that were run by Uganda Virus Research Institute on Tuesday evening.
The 26-year-old is among the two positive community cases and is said to be a contact to the a truck driver that recently also tested positive for corona virus.
Ministry of Health noted that the corona virus positive case in Kyambogo was under quarantine at the time of confirmation and is currently admitted at the China-Uganda Friendship Hospital in Naguru undergoing treatment.
Kyambogo university final year students are set to report back to campus on June 4th for resumption of classes that’ll precede to their end of semester examinations.
Following a Presidential Directive of deducting all foreign truck drivers from Uganda’s case count, the confirmed corona virus cases in Uganda now stand at 145.
