Kyambogo University students have promised to continue airing out their demand as the strike enters the second week.
According to the letter from the Guild President H.E Wafula Edrine Koholo, all students have been called upon to continue the industrial action as negotiations with the administration proceed.
Mr. Wafula imitated that the meeting between the top management and the Guild leaders will determine whether the strike is to be called off or to be continued.
“Several engagements are so far ongoing in order to have our demands handled as fast as possible. It’s against this background that I would like to inform everyone that the University top management shall have a meeting with the Guild leaders tomorrow 8th May, 2023 at 10:00am to come up with solutions to the challenges at hand,” the letter read in part.
“The purpose of this letter therefore is to call off all lectures, tests and coursework’s that were to be conducted tomorrow, and no student should be found attending any lectures or tests tomorrow. All coordinators should inform the lecturers to reschedule tomorrow’s programs,” the Guild President directed.
Kyambogo University students have been raging for since the past week demanding for release of allowances for government students, waiving off surcharge, immediate uploading of marks and paying salaries of lecturers.
