In a letter dated 29th January 2021 addressed to the KyambogoUniversity Vice Chancellor Prof Eli Katunguka, a section of students from the Banda-based university have tasked the management to break the silence regarding reopening.
According to the students, Katunguka had announced in a press conference that the university would reopen in February but all of a sudden he has kept quiet in this uncertainty. The students have further asked Kantunguka to issue communication following a letter from the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) that is making rounds on social media.
Katunguka has not come out to reveal what next for Kyambogostudents following NCHE’s directive that higher institutions should remain closed for another three months.
The students have advised Kyambogo University management to review the e-learning, explaining that it has failed to meet their learning objectives.
“On this same note, we wish to remind you on how the E-learning has completely failed to meet the learning objectives for the period it has been under testing, hence a need to review. This has therefore brought contradiction that has left students in their off-campus accommodation units.” part of the letter reads.
in the same letter, students are seeking for the management’s knowledge about the scheduled on-campus reopening slated for February 1st 2021.
