Kyambogo University students are bitter following the university’s decision to continue charging them over failure to clear in time.

Kyambogo normally fines students UGX 50,000 for clearing tuition after the stated deadline and things have not changed despite this COVID-19 lockdown. The university’s digital invoice has shocked many students as they continue to debate why fine wasn’t paused.

All university students were sent home in March after President Museveni announced his decision to close education institutions in bid to fight COVID-19. However, Kyambogo students will still have to pay fine despite then being home.

That fee is always charged students who delay to pay within the stipulated period of time. However students claim that before the lockdown on the 18th of March, it was not there but now it’s in the portal.

We shall keep you posted.
