Campus Bee has learned of continuous theft of Kyambogo University students’ properties in hostels around Banda and this is evidently attributed to the prolonged lockdown.
The very latest reports are coming from Banda-based Bavana hostel, where a Kyambogo student who preferred to only be identified as Enock met the shock of his life after finding his property including electronics, beddings and clothing were robbed clean from his hostel.
The student further told Campus bee that the hostel custodian was not in position to answer to the whole matter on how the theft activities were happening over the time when students are away.

“I decided to go to my hostel today to check on my room and my property. To my shock, I found my room-door half way bolted and the padlock wasn’t there. Most of my property was stolen. I’m very depressed now, how I’m I going to recover all these items that I’ve lost” narrated Enock.
“And I’m even more disappointed that the custodian doesn’t know how my property was stolen, yet he is always around the hostel” he added.
This comes weeks after two Makerere University Business School students’ properties were stolen at Betsam Hostel in Nakawa in a similar way. If you know anyone from the affected hostels, please be kind to alert them of the theft happening there.
