The Law Development Centre (LDC) has officially opened the application process the Bar Course 2024/2025 academic year.
This program is a critical step for aspiring legal professionals in Uganda, providing them with the necessary training and qualifications to advance in their careers.
The Bar Course will be available at LDC’s campuses in Kampala, Mbarara, Lira, and Mbale, with a blend of physical and virtual learning options to accommodate various student needs.
Eligibility for this program requires applicants to hold a Bachelor of Law degree from a recognized university or institution. Those with degrees from foreign institutions must ensure their qualifications are accredited by the Law Council of Uganda and must obtain prior clearance from the Council.
Additionally, previous Bar Course students who wish to retake the entire course or specific subjects are also welcome to apply.
The application process is straightforward and entirely online. Interested candidates must visit the LDC admissions portal, create an account, and follow the provided steps to complete their application.
It is essential to note that an application fee of UGX 200,000 is required, which can be paid through various banking methods, including MTN and Airtel Money.
For those currently completing their LLB degrees and awaiting final results, it is crucial that their universities provide clearance and include them in a list submitted to LDC by July 17, 2024.
The deadline for application submission is Friday, August 4, 2024. Prospective applicants are urged to ensure all documents are authentic and properly submitted to avoid disqualification.
