LDC Tells All Students to Get Vaccinated as Condition For Reporting Back

The administration of Uganda’s Law Development Centre (LDC) has instructed all students to get vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition set to reopen for physical studies.

According to an official from the Centre, vaccination is not a must but those who choose to avoid the jab are advised to report back when the deadly virus is out of Uganda, probably in 2023.

“Indeed nobody will be “forced” to be vaccinated. Those who opt out are free to rejoin the Bar Course to complete in subsequent years – it is our prayer that probably by AY 2022-2023 the Covid-19 pandemic will be behind us and the unvaccinated ones can rejoin LDC for physical learning.” Reads a statement from Frank Nigel Othembi, Director, LDC.

The communication has come days after the Ministry of Education advised that all learners above 18 years should first get vaccinated before resumption of physical studies. The Ministry is expected to address rumors circulating in media that universities will reopen in November this year while lower schools will have to wait until January 2022.
