Julius Kateregga the Guild President of Makerere University is set to lead his fellow students in a greening and cleaning campaign around Makerere University.
The Mak Connect Initiative is the brain child of the Guild President where the university community aims at giving back to the surrounding areas. The first MAK Connect Initiative is going to take place this Saturday the 21st of September with various activities such as a joint morning jogging of students from Halls of residence, cleaning up of the neighbouring areas ie Kikoni, Nakulabye, Wandegeya, Kikumi Kikumi and Katanga.
The initiative shall be concluded by a tree planting exercise around the campus. Speaking to Campus Bee, Kateregga encouraged his fellow students to join him on Saturday with their red undergraduate gowns for the cleaning process.
By press time, Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) had confirmed that it would provide cleaning materials and trucks to be used on the day.
