The tribunal will hear complaints of 24 staff members who are listed on an appeal registry physically presented by 11 members. Some of the sacked staff who have appealed include; Prof Charles Niwagaba, an Associate professor (Civil and Environmental Engineering), James Ocita, lecturer, Literature, John Mushomi, assistant lecturer, Population Studies, Swizen Kyomuhendo, lecturer, School of Social Sciences, Denis Assimwe, and Juma Anthony Okuku, lecturer, Political Science and Public Administration.
Others include; Olive Darlia
Peace Tumuheki, assistant registrar and Peres Arinaitwe, former accountant, were sacked over insubordination and failure to perform official duties.
“We hope that the outcomes of the judicial proceedings shall be respected by the management…” said Isaac Ssemakadde, a lawyer representing the sacked staff when he was confirming summons to the tribunal.
