After postponing this year’s fresher’s orientation multiple times, Makerere University Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic Affairs) Umar Kakumba has released new dates when first year students are expected to report on campus for orientation and registration.
According to Kakumba’s statement, freshers (year one, undergraduate and graduate) orientation, enrolment and registration will be held between Monday 22nd February and Saturday 27th February 2021.
The activity will take place at various colleges and registrars are expected to schedule and issue a detailed plan on how they intend to handle the matter.
“Each college registrar, in consultation with the principal, should produce a detailed plan to conduct freshers orientation registration sessions on campus during 22nd – 27th February 2021.” Kakumba said in a statement.
Freshers will then kick off on campus studies on 1st March as earlier communicated. Other students expected to report on 1st March include; those offering science courses (Health sciences, veterinary medicine and animal biosecurity, architecture program and 4th year agriculture students).
The newly released program clearly shows when and how students will be studying in a staggered manner.
