The Recess Term runs from June 6 to August 1, 2026. Check your hall, check your college, and check whether you need to pay UGX 150,000 before you show up.
The Office of the Dean of Students has issued official accommodation arrangements for the 2025/2026 Recess Term, which runs from June 6 to August 1, 2026. The notice, signed by Dean of Students Dr. Winifred Kabumbuli and dated May 18, 2026, outlines where each category of student will be housed during the recess period.
If you are planning to stay on campus during recess, read this carefully — because not everyone goes to their usual hall.
Livingstone Hall and Jinja Campus students will be accommodated at Nkrumah Hall.
Mitchell Hall and University Hall students will be accommodated at Nsibirwa Hall.
Female students will be accommodated at Lumumba Hall.
College of Health Sciences students who were allocated space at Galloway House for the 2025/2026 Academic Year are expected to take up that accommodation at the start of recess.
College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences students doing recess at the Kabanyolo Agricultural site will be housed at Kabanyolo Hostel.
All government-sponsored Non-Resident students with recess will be accommodated according to the arrangements in points (a), (b), and (c) above.
Private students who wish to reside in Halls of Residence during recess must pay a fee of UGX 150,000 (one hundred and fifty thousand shillings) via PRN to the bank for the eight-week duration — but only after confirming that accommodation space is available.
Do not pay before confirming availability. Generate your PRN through the official system and pay through a bank. All Wardens have been notified to make the necessary arrangements for a smooth transition.
