Students from the College of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Resources and Bio-Security (CoVAB) are up in arms after their College admin denied them a bus to go attend the funeral of one of their own.
Jimmy Claudius Ochen (in featured image above), a 3rd year student of Veterinary Medicine passed on on Tuesday due to heart related issues but the students claim that since Wednesday the College has not been willing to help them lobby funds for burial or to help students arrange a vehicle for burial claiming that they have no money and that they’re in holidays.
“How will it look when government officials find you in a university vehicle when the university is closed?” The administration apparently asked them.
The students fault the college administration for “neglecting” them in their time of sorrow and need and “just letting them out there to suffer without even a condolence message to the bereaved famiy.”
Our efforts to reach out to the College Principal for a comment were futile as our calls went unanswered.
