Makerere University is mourning Susan Patricia Nabukonde, a final-year Bachelor of Pharmacy student who died just months before she was due to graduate.
Nabukonde died on Tuesday, October 13, at Mulago National Referral Hospital, where she had been in the Intensive Care Unit for several weeks, the Guild Ministry of Students’ Affairs said in a bereavement announcement.
She had been looking forward to graduating in January 2027.
Guild Minister for Students’ Affairs Owen Nasasira described her death as a painful loss to her family, friends, classmates and the entire Makerere community, mourning what he called a life filled with promise.
