Makerere University guild president Alionzi Lawrence alias Dangote has awarded outstanding former Guild leaders through the Guild Presidential awards.
The guild presidential awards is a new initiative by the 88th guild president aimed at recognising guild leaders that outdid themselves both in the political and academic sphere.
The awards were presented to the first beneficiaries on February 17th, 2023 during the last day of the Makerere University 73rd graduation ceremony.
These included Nalukwago Judith and Luyombo Abbas as female and male personality respectively.

She pursued a Bachelors degree of Dental Surgery and was the85th GRC School of Health Sciences, 85th Vice Guild President.
She contested for Guild President and spearheaded the 2019 fees must fall strike.
Luyombo Abbas

He graduated with a Bachelors of Laws of Makerere University CGPA: 3.74 (Second Class Upper and among the top 10 in 73rd graduation cohort).
He served as the 85th GRC school of Law, 85th Hon. Minister for Justice and Constitutional Affairs and 86th Rt. Hon. Guild prime minister.
The guild presidential award is one of the many projects introduced by Alionzi Lawrence.
Among other initiatives he has come up with is the Mak at 100 dialogue, a debating forum that brings Makerereans together to debate and suggest solutions to challenges they face as students.
