In is his latest interview with KFM, a local radio station, the Makerere School of Law Principal, Prof Christopher Mbazira revealed that they will increase the enrollment of students into the Law course from 300 to 500 once their new home’s construction is completed.
The communication follows the University Council allocating Shs7.3 billion to fund the construction of the new building to accommodate more staff and students. The said building will also have more space that will allow more offices to be set up.
Mbazira further explained that the school would not increase students’ enrollment because they had limited space capacity.
According to Mbazira, they have a population of 1,000 students and an academic staff population of 40. Their current infrastructure would not enable them to increase the number of students as well as expand the faculty.
The excited Principal further disclosed that they are warming up to train more lawyers once their new building is finalized.
