Sunday evening was a sad moment for the Makerere University community following the sudden death of Nkuutu Brian, a second year Student of Development Studies. According to the university’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Barnabas Nawangwe, Nkuutu died of heart failure. More reports indicate that Nkuutu died in a hotel room located in Ishaka.
The newly elected Makerere University Guild President, Kateregga Julius mourns Nkuutu as another Mitchell Hall general who always ensured that porridge was ready for all guild rally goers. Kateregga adds that Nkuutu helped him a lot during his struggle for power.
“Brian was key to my ascension to the Guild Presidency of Makerere University. Every evening, together with another Mitchellite, you ensured that porridge was ready in time for those who returned from the campaign rallies. I vividly recall you laying yourself at the forefront for me when the times got violent during the campaign.” Kateregga wrote.
Prof Nawangwe mourns
“I send condolences to the family of the late Brian Nkuutu, second year student of Development Studies who has died of heart failure. The loss of such a young soul is a loss to the whole nation. May God rest his soul in peace.” Writes Nawangwe.
