Following the hardship that Makerere University students have been going through to access their academic transcripts, the University’s Vice-Chancellor Prof Barnabas Nawangwe has revealed that the academic registrar will start sending academic transcripts to students’ respective colleges beginning next month.
According to Nawangwe, these students have been finding it hard to pick transcripts from the Senate building and sometimes miss out the job opportunities due to the failure of getting these documents in time.
Talking of verification exercise, the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor revealed that the management has embarked on issuing academic transcripts to all students that graduated this year following a successful verification exercise.
In a bid to improve the result management system, the University management has set up a college review committee headed by Prof John David Kabaasa. Apparently, the committee still has challenges but it is expected to assist in evaluating the college system at the Wandegeya based campus.
