Makerere University postgraduate students in the College of Engineering, Design,Art and Technology(CEDAT) at the School of Engineering have raised a complaint about failure to register on the new Acmis students portal.
The shift to ACMIS has recently foiled operations in many institutions including the graduation mess in Kyambogo University, apparently, a section of CEDAT is on the loose.
“In reference to the letter from the University Registrar dated 25th October 2021 on exams for Postgraduate and final year students sitting exams from 15th November 2021 and in conjunction with a letter dated 26th October 2021 by the Council of College Presidents regarding the same; we write to notify you that most postgraduate students in the College of Engineering, Design,Art and Technology School of Engineering have not succeeded in enrolling or registering onthe new ACMIS student’s portal due to technical errors present on the portal,” the Students wrote to the College Registrar.
In addition, the majority of the students have not paid fees due to similar system technical errors. To sit for exams, registration is one of the key requirements for students.
“We, therefore, seek a formal communication from your office before 15th November 2021 addressing the above mentioned issues to protect students against any uncertainties arising with the potential to – disrupt their exams,” Turyasingura Medard, Post Graduate Students Representative noted.
