Makerere University has announced a one-month extension for applications to its graduate programs for the 2025/2026 academic year.
According to an official notice issued by the Office of the Academic Registrar, prospective students now have until Friday, May 30, 2025, to submit their applications.
The extension moves the deadline from the originally scheduled date of Wednesday, April 30, 2025, giving potential applicants an additional month to prepare and submit their documentation.
“The Academic Registrar, Makerere University, informs the general public that the deadline for application of graduate programs for the academic year 2025/2026 intake has been extended,” read the notice signed by Professor Buyinza Mukadasi, the Academic Registrar.
While the university has not explicitly stated reasons for the extension, it may be in response to increased demand by applicants who might have faced challenges with the earlier deadline.
The extension applies to all postgraduate diploma, master’s, and doctoral programs offered across Makerere’s various colleges and schools including MUBS.
Prospective students are advised to visit the university’s official website www.mak.ac.ug or contact the Academic Registrar’s office directly for application procedures and program-specific requirements.
