Step 1 — Register: Visit https://apply.mak.ac.ug and click “Register Now.” Fill in your details exactly as they appear on your academic documents. Any discrepancy between your registration details and your academic documents will invalidate your application.
Step 2 — Login: A password will be sent to your registered email address and mobile phone number. Use it to log in, then immediately change it to a personal password you can easily remember.
Step 3 — Fill In Your Application: Select the appropriate application round — Undergraduate or Postgraduate. Fill in your personal information, education history, and programme choices. Undergraduate applicants can list up to six programme choices, so use them strategically and prioritise accordingly.
Step 4 — Upload Academic Documents: Attach all required academic documents, including your O-Level and A-Level results, transcripts, and identification. Note that this step applies specifically to diploma holders and graduate applicants. A-Level direct entry applicants are not required to upload documents at this stage.
Step 5 — Submit: Submit your completed form online. Only applications that are fully paid and properly submitted will be reviewed. An incomplete or unpaid application will not be considered regardless of how strong your academic profile is.
Important Notes For Applicants
Your name on the portal must match your name on your academic documents exactly. This is not a suggestion — a mismatch will invalidate your application and the application fee is non-refundable.
Only fully paid and submitted applications are reviewed. Saving a draft and forgetting to pay, or paying without completing all form sections, means your application will not be processed.
Undergraduate applicants can select up to six programme choices. Use this provision wisely — list your most preferred and realistic programmes first, and include alternatives that match your subject combination and points.
