Makerere University recently launched a public fair on academic certificates and transcripts for the alumni.
The initiative came at a time when various former students pinned their alma mater for failing to avail the respective documents in time.
A closely related case that bred public uproar was that involving the current Uganda Airlines Chief Executive Officer Jenifer Bamuturaki.
During the vetting process, she revealed to parliament that she had never received her transcript from Makerere University, 28 years after her graduation.
With several other complaints from recent and older graduates, the university management thought it wise to come up with a solution to mitigate the grievance.
Resultantly, the public fair on the academic documents was launched on November 8 in the Freedom Square, accessible to all alumni, with officers to handle all related queries.
However, there’s a faction of former students who initially received their transcripts and certificates but unfortunately misplaced them.
The affected have also been given a lease on life with a clearly spelt out procedure to aid them recover their lost treasures.
All that one has to do is to;
- Have a police letter
