Uganda’s premier university, Makerere has finally been able to secure 7000 graduation gowns from China out of the over 13,000 gowns that are needed in total to cater for the graduation ceremony scheduled for 14th to 17th next week .
In an 8th January 2020 letter to all college and school registrars, the academic registrar Alfred Masikye Namoah instructed all school registrars to report to the central store to collect the gowns for the graduands in their respective colleges. This is intended to avoid commotion.
Through Makerere University Facebook page where a post has been made , it is affirmed that the gowns are ready and the graduands should therefore report to their respective colleges to collect them. The graduands are also expected to collect the booklets and other materials needed for graduation from their college registrars. MUBS students are to collect theirs from the school registrars.
The graduands are advised to present evidence that they have cleared graduation and gown fee to be legible to get the gown. The collection of these materials shall officially start tomorrow, 9th January 2020.
